A Year of Thankfulness

This has been for me a year of thankfulness. It started with my husband moving back home in January after living in another state for six months. It was a great way to start the year, but it was also a reminder that the trial we stepped back from while he was gone was still waiting for us. We have been in a trial since 2012 that has made me more thankful than ever. God has reminded me in this {Read More}

When a Stranger Asked to Pray for Me

It’s amazing how God works. What I thought was going to be a plane ride for a girls weekend turned into much, much more. My story is about a sweet girl I met on an airplane. Actually, we didn’t really meet until she ran after me once we departed from the plane. After chasing me down, she told me the Lord had put me on her heart and that she wanted to pray for me. Fast forward from June 2013, {Read More}

Oreo Balls

Oreo Balls have always been my go-to dessert for parties or gatherings. After making 400 for our wedding favors, I thought I would never make them again, but that didn’t happen because, before I knew it, they were being requested by family and friends. These don’t rank high on the healthy rating scale, but they sure are easy to make and delicious! 1-16 oz package Oreos, crushed 1-8 oz package cream cheese, softened 1 package of chocolate almond bark optional: {Read More}

Faithfulness in Tithing

Our Lord is a faithful God. He is sovereign and because His spirit lives within us He wants us to display the same spirit of faithfulness. One of His commands on being faithful and being a follower of Him is to tithe. The purpose of tithing is to teach you always to put God first in your lives. Deuteronomy 14:23, The Living Bible. Many people feel as though they can’t afford tithing. They are living paycheck to paycheck and aren’t {Read More}

Better for You Banana Bread

When my husband and I decided to give our diet a complete overhaul, I had to start being creative with finding recipes that were not only healthy, but tasted good. I never liked banana bread, but this recipe definitely proved me wrong. It’s gluten free as well as refined sugar free. My favorite way to enjoy it is warm and topped off with homemade almond butter.  Enjoy it for breakfast or as a dessert. Whenever you have extra bananas going {Read More}

Bearing the Fruit of Goodness Daily

What do you think of when you hear the word goodness? Most likely you are thinking about good things. Good food, good friends, a good movie, a good day, a good heart, and the list could go on and on. But what does good mean in relation to the fruit of the Spirit? Scripture starts out in Genesis with the Lord creating the world and everything He made was “good.” What a precedent to set. From the beginning of time, {Read More}

Words of Life

I love music, and lately have been convicted when listening to a a song playing on the radio by Hawk Nelson, called ”Words”. The lyrics are very fitting with Ephesians 4:29 and the topic of self control: Click here if the video is not playing in your browser. Ephesians 4:29 NIV tells us “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.” Sometimes {Read More}
