What I’m Thankful For

Laughter with friends. Rainy days. Sunshine. Birds singing. Cold drink of water on a hot day. Hot coffee on a snowy morning. Watching snow fall from my living room window. Playing with my granddaughter. Hugs from my grandchildren. Phone calls from my children. Vacation at the beach with family and friends. My puppy asleep on my lap. A loving extended family. Prayer. Southern gospel music. A job that is my ministry. Christian brothers and sisters. Kindness. Smiles. Wonderful weekends. Butterflies. {Read More}

About Ginny Holcombe

First of all I am a daughter of the King! My relationship with Jesus is the best and most important part of my life. I’m a mother of 3 and grandmother of 7. I’m also a sister, aunt, mother-in-law, and friend. I can’t leave out Cinnamon, my Jack Russell/Basenji who touches me daily with love, companionship, and laughter. Not to mention ideas for my blog! God has blessed me with the opportunity to serve Him as a ministry assistant and receptionist at Porter Memorial Baptist Church. This gives me the opportunity to encourage and assist people from all walks of life and I’m thankful for the opportunity to see Him at work among His church. I am a woman who has been broken by life and circumstances but made whole by my relationship with Jesus Christ. My deepest desire is to use the gifts of writing and speaking to encourage women to cultivate a deeply intimate relationship with Jesus and to allow the Holy Spirit to guide them through each day. I enjoy sharing the lessons He brings to my life on my blog: butterflyginny.blogspot.com and my Facebook page, Gazing at Jesus. I’m thankful to be given the opportunity to share what God is teaching me on MMCW. I pray that His love, grace, and mercy will touch you every day.

Thankful for Strings and Buttons

It was a cold Saturday evening in downtown Atlanta. The homeless shelter kitchen was filled with the down-and-out, men and women with only the clothes on their backs to call their own. Dreary as the weather was outside, inside it was a joyful night with a guest preacher, a youth group to serve dinner and provide singing, and plenty of good food to go around. Not to mention it was warm. As the service got underway, an offering plate was {Read More}
