The Only Unfailing Security System

Looking at the snow from the window.

Many are the woes of the wicked, but the Lord’s unfailing love surrounds the man who trusts in him. ~ Psalms 32:10

What’s the best security system for your home?

I know it would not be our big Collie. Bo lays at the backdoor. Bo can open that door, if he uses the full force of his weight, but he doesn’t go out the door unless he perceives no one is watching. He’s more worried about escaping than protecting.

Companies make huge money these days installing sophisticated security systems in private homes. Through the miracle of technology, silent electronic sentries are stationed at windows or doors to detect the slightest movement or possibility of an intruder.

The Bible teaches that only one security system can offer a home complete and absolute 24/7 security–it is the Lord’s unfailing love that surrounds the person who trusts in Him. That means we can trust Him to stand guard for us in our marriage, our children, and our safety seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day, caring for us and those we love.

The only proviso is that we must place our complete confidence in His name and Word. Once we do that, we can sleep peacefully–He’s got us surrounded.

O Savior, thank You that we can live this life without fear or anxiety about what might happen to us. Help us to rest in the sweet truth and assurance that Your love and power surround us day and night. Amen.
