A Fragrance of Christ

“So is my love among the daughters…So is my beloved among the sons…” (Song of Solomon 2:2-3) “How do you know,” a Bedouin was asked, “that there is a God?” “In the same way,” he replied, “that I know in looking at the sand when a man or beast has crossed the desert—by His footprints in the world around me.” What kind of footprints have we burned into the days of our lives? It is a thought worth pondering. The {Read More}

What Can’t Be Argued

Bible verses are great, I mean for believers of course. For us, they either confirm something in which we believe, offer a source of comfort in the midst of pains, or give something to cling to when life’s stuff gets us down.  But for those who don’t know God, words of Scripture offer little more than pleasantries at best or condemnation and judgment heaped on by well-meaning Christians at worst. Let me be clear, I love God’s Word. I trust it {Read More}

About Tracey Cagle

My God brought me out of a pit of my own creation and blessed me beyond my wildest dreams. I am a second wife to my high school sweetheart and mother of four. I work part-time for a market research company and full-time as chauffeur, chef, and cheerleader to the children. I am active in my church home, where I teach a women's Sunday school class and facilitate bible studies. I enjoy volunteering. I write children's stories and have been rejected by some of the most renowned publishing companies in America. My daughter tells me Dr. Seuss was rejected on 17 submissions so I still have a way to go.

Mission: Hospitality

Last year, I experienced one of life’s major moments: I bought a home. As a single-again woman, I beamed with pride on closing day. For most of the five years after my divorce, I lived in a decent-sized apartment. But I didn’t let that stop me from having people over. Now, with my very own home, I had a unique opportunity–welcoming even more people into my mission field. I didn’t know that God already had a plan in mind. Several {Read More}

Gourmet Meals or Ready Hearts?

  It seems to my husband Jeff and I that many people live insular lives in today’s world. Family is a little island where accessibility is limited and if someone were to drop by their home out of the blue, it would be considered shockingly rude. Early on in our marriage, we desired something different for our home. We always wanted our friends to feel they could come by any time. Never has this been more true for us than {Read More}

Homes Opened to the World

Have you ever been overseas, across the country, or just so far away from home you don’t see  family or friends often. if at all?  I have.  I have and I’m sure some of you have. One of the loneliest times for me were the holidays and weekends. Everyone else was spending time with family – at least it seemed so. I’d sit at home wondering if I’d ever have a social life, fit into the new community or find {Read More}

No Minor Meetings

I went into a store after work to pick up a few groceries. It was late, and I was in the usual rush. The young checkout girl cracked her gum, scanned the groceries and punched in numbers on items that repeatedly wouldn’t scan. Only once she glanced at me, seemed to sense she should say something and said “You look tired.” Suddenly I felt incredibly old–especially compared to this teenager–and much more tired than I had been a moment before. {Read More}
