Counting It All Loss

A few of my friends and I traveled to a nearby metropolis to enjoy an evening out to celebrate my birthday. The conversation was marked by giggling, girl talk, daily happenings, and thought-provoking questions. At one point, the passage from Galatians 6:17 was brought up:  “…From now on let no one trouble me, for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.” Paul was speaking of the torture, physical persecution, floggings, and imprisonments he suffered for his {Read More}

Passing it On

Grace-full mentoring comes in a multitude of forms… from helping a young mother in her attempts at caring for her new baby to guiding a pre-teen as she learns how to accessorize her wardrobe. From encouraging a neighbor with simple and inexpensive ways to prepare meals when her husband’s salary has been cut to sharing ideas with a bride-to-be whose mother died years before. We often think mentoring means someone teaching deep theological messages, but mentoring comes in a variety of {Read More}

Breathe In, Breathe Out

During lambing season, my husband Will helped with “pulling” a lamb. At last he freed a near-lifeless lamb and began sticking straw up its nose.
