Book Club Starts May 9th…Really!

While the plan was to kick-off MMCW’s Facebook book club in January, it obviously did not quite turn out that way. If you have the book, wonderful. If you do not have the book yet, there is still time!

Our first book will be Marriage to a Difficult Man: The Uncommon Union of Jonathan and Sarah Edwards by Elisabeth Dodd. This book gives readers an insight into the love, marriage, and family life of great preacher Jonathan Edwards and his wife Sarah. Do not let the title fool you–this is a grand little book.

Leading our book club will be Emily Beth, a college junior with a heart for the Lord. She will encourage and challenge us with her reviews and discussion. I have read her review of the first four chapters, and let’s just say you don’t want to miss it!

On May 9th, Emily Beth’s review / discussion will begin and she asks that everyone read through chapter four between now and then.

Facebook is new book club territory for us and we are claiming it for Jesus! Emily Beth will post her review one day a week and jump start our discussion. As readers in the club, we can all share our insights through the Comment section. The review and comments will be available through the Notes section of MMCW’s Facebook Fan Page in case anyone misses a week or starts at a later date. In addition, Emily Beth’s writing will also be available on our blog for anyone to follow along at their convenience.

If you have not joined our Facebook Fan page and you have a Facebook account, all you have to do is go to www.MentoringMoments.org . On the right hand side you will see our Facebook box–just click the Like button.

If you do not have a Facebook account, you can set one up for free at Facebook.com. Or you can follow along with the book club through our blog.

You can find copies of the book at Amazon.com, and Barnes & Nobles (the best price I found for used copies). Emily Beth suggests reserving through your local library as she did.
