We read yesterday that God Himself gave Jesus the Name above all Names–A name that brings salvation. Savior. Yahweh saves. The importance of His name connects Christmas with Easter. Throughout all the New Testament, much is done IN HIS NAME, and we are still encouraged to do all things IN HIS NAME.
What’s in a name? A lot.
In His Name….
We will be hated because of His name
The Gentiles will hope in His name
Two or three will gather in His Name
We are to receive a Child in His Name
We are Baptized In His Name
We are to believe in His Name and become children of God
We are to ask all things in His Name
The Holy Spirit was sent in His Name
Many risked their lives for His Name
We were justified in His Name.
We give thanks in His Name
We are to do everything in His Name
We are to glorify His name
We are to believe in His name
And at the name of Jesus……
Every knee in heaven and earth shall bow
And every tongue confess that He is Lord
This season when you hear “Merry Christmas,” remember it’s like saying, “Happy Birthday, Jesus!” And in His name find strength, comfort, and peace.
