Food Wreaths for Buffet Tables

For beautiful additions to your holiday buffet tables, create a wreath using food. Here are four of my favorites:

Grape Wreath: Place green grapes, cut in clusters in a circle on a large serving tray. Dot with a few cherries and place a big red bow at the top.

Honeydew Wreath: Cut a green honeydew melon into curved wedges and place around the outside of a plate. In the center, place a bowl of dressing made of 1 cup sour cream mixed with a package of drained frozen raspberries. The red and green combination looks festive.

Cheese Wreath: Use real Christmas tree greens as a wreath on a plate with a cheese ball in the center. Make pockets of crackers in the wreath. For a simple cheese ball combine 10 oz. of softened cream cheese, 4 oz shredded sharp cheddar cheese, and  1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts. Form cheese into a ball. Sprinkle chopped walnuts onto a sheet of wax paper and roll and shape cheese ball over walnuts. Wrap finished cheese ball with wax paper and chill in refrigerator until firm.

Shrimp Wreath: Circle a plate with shrimp. Put a bowl of green mayonnaise in the center (just mix 1/2 cup parsley and 1/2 cup chopped cilantro into  1 and 1/2 cups of mayonnaise).
