There are times when it would be of great comfort to know that God hears your prayers. This is especially true during a time of sickness when you are crying out to Him for healing. You can be assured that He does hear your prayers and, in fact, He hears them immediately!
Take a look at what happened to Hezekiah in 2 Kings 20: 1-11. The Bible says that Hezekiah was sick. He was so sick that he was even near death. The prophet Isaiah visited him with a message from the Lord which was that Hezekiah needed to set his house in order because he was going to die. After Isaiah left, Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and began to pray and weep.
Before Isaiah had even gone out into the middle court, God told him to turn around and go back and speak to Hezekiah again. He was to tell him that God had heard his prayer and had seen his tears and that He was going to heal him.
When Isaiah told Hezekiah this, Hezekiah asked for a sign from God that He would indeed heal him. As a sign, God caused the shadow on the sundial to go backward ten degrees!
How comforting to know that God hears us, and He hears us immediately!
