Now, with my very own home, I had a unique opportunity–welcoming even more people into my mission field. I didn’t know that God already had a plan in mind. Several {Read More}

Counting It All Loss

A few of my friends and I traveled to a nearby metropolis to enjoy an evening out to celebrate my birthday. The conversation was marked by giggling, girl talk, daily happenings, and thought-provoking questions. At one point, the passage from Galatians 6:17 was brought up:  “…From now on let no one trouble me, for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.” Paul was speaking of the torture, physical persecution, floggings, and imprisonments he suffered for his {Read More}

Walking the Romans Road

When it comes to sharing the how and why of salvation in Jesus Christ believers can sometimes become tongue-tied, shy, and self-conscious. What if I say something wrong? I may say the Scripture wrong? What if I botch it all? My pastor recently spent a Sunday evening service walking our congregation through a well-known method called the Romans Road. It allows believers to share the gospel confidently without worrying “Where was that scripture?” All you need is your Bible and {Read More}

Freedom. What an interesting term.  It can be defined in many ways. In the United States of America we pride ourselves in having freedom to say what we want, go where we desire, and do whatever pleases us.  When we look at countries like Cuba, we think of anything but freedom.  Since 1959, when Cuba officially became a communist country, the people have experienced the loss of many freedoms we hold dear.  The trade embargo instituted by the U.S. made life even more difficult. Upon a {Read More}
