Standing in Truth

“The law of the LORD is perfect, restoring the soul;

The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple;

The precepts of the LORD are right; rejoicing the heart;

The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes;

The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever;

The judgments of the LORD are true; they are righteous altogether.”

   Psalm 19:7-9 NASB

Prayer . . .

Gracious Heavenly Father, through the mighty and precious name of Jesus, I come before You this day with a grateful heart. You have provided everything I need through the total sufficiency of the Scriptures.  They are perfect, sure, right, and pure.  Through the Word my soul is restored, it makes me wise, brings rejoicing to my heart, and opens my eyes to the truth.  May I be bold, courageous, and willing to take a stand for Truth.

Father, may I learn to base every decision upon Your Word.  Help me to study and apply it to my life—to be obedient.  Help me to rest upon the sovereignty of Your Word; waiting for You to work for Your purposes and glory—not mine.  Help me to see the glimpses of truth you have for me.  Most of all, help me to pray Your Word; for this is the power of prayer and it brings You joy.

You are my Rock and my Shield; in You I trust.  It is through Your Word the enemy is defeated.  Open the eyes of my heart to see this day Your Word for my life and for the lives of those I know and love. In the powerful name of Jesus I humbly ask.  Amen
