Patient…with You

Think back.

Do you remember it?

The day you received Jesus Christ into your heart as your Lord and Savior?

What did you feel?

  • · Relief?
  • · Joy?
  • · Excitement?

How long did it take for you to make that choice for Jesus? Has it been years, months, weeks, or days since that date?

Have you ever thought of how long God waited for you to make that choice for Him?

We each owed God a tremendous debt–one we could not repay. But God had compassion on us and canceled that debt so that we wouldn’t have to repay it–not a cent of it. We could not get to Heaven–not with our sin. We could not live forever with a Holy God–not with our ungodliness.

But Jesus!

What love—shed on the cross more than 2,000 years ago!

We tried to do enough, to be enough, to undo enough of our past to be with Him forever.

He was patient with us.

But then it happened–the day came. We realized we never could get to Heaven on our own. We acknowledged and accepted Jesus’ death on the cross for us. We received Him into our lives—our Savior and our Lord.

He was patient with us.

Do you remember that day? Can you still feel it? Do you recall His patience with you up to that point? Who were you before the day and time you chose Jesus?

Just as important: Have you chosen Jesus?

Dear one, if you have not, please know: He is still patient with you.

“The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise to return, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to perish, so he is giving more time for everyone to repent” (2 Peter 3:9 NLT).

Will you accept Him? Will today be your day of salvation?

He has been patient with you. He has given you time to turn from your sin (Romans 2:4 NLT). Today—yes today, you can believe in Him and receive eternal life (1 Timothy 1:16 NLT).
