In His Presence #24: The Majesty of My Redeemer

“On the glorious splendor of Your majesty and on Your wonderful works, I will meditate.”

Psalm 145:5

Recently, the word “majesty” has just popped into my mind over and over.  I have been spending some of my In His Presence time delving into the meaning of that word.  I am in awe when I think of the majesty of Christ.  I have been listening to the song, Majesty on Youtube featuring Michael W. Smith and Crown Him  (Majesty) with Christ Tomlin and Kari Jobe.  Amazing!

Psalm 8:9, says, “O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth!”

Even God’s name is majestic!  Majestic here means “large, very great, mighty, used of waves of the sea.” I get such a great visual picture of the meaning of this word when I remember standing on the edge of the beach and being awed by the sight and sound of powerful waves as I look out at the vast ocean.

I’m almost finished reading the book, Breaking Free by Beth Moore and listen to what I read this morning.  I thought it was so good and fitting for our In His Presence Link Up today.

“In the simplicity of my prayer time, I am suddenly confronted by the majesty of my Redeemer.  The One who is responsible for any good in me.  My past sins are forgiven and fresh mercies fall like manna from heaven.  And once again, my heart is moved and I surrender all.  Morning after morning.”

Isn’t that amazing to hear?  I hate to quote so much from the book, but I have just one more line I wanted to share with you.

“The more time you spend with Him, the more you will yearn for Him.”

I want to encourage you to spend some time meditating on the majesty of your Redeemer today.  The more you do, the more your desire for that time spent In His Presence will grow.
