Can You Experience Christmas Anew this Year?

A Facebook entry proclaimed 36 days to Christmas. As if in response to that notification, a question from my quiet time reading asked, How can you experience Christmas anew this year? For me, the answer might come through reading the Christmas story in John 1:1-18.

Throughout this passage, Jesus is described as the Word, and the life and the light of men. John goes on to say that Jesus describes God. Jesus is the earthly representation of His Father. John 1:18 says, “he hath declared him,” (KJV), “He has interpreted Him, and He has made Him known” (AMPLIFIED), and my favorite, “He has explained Him” (NASB). What a wonderful description. God in His tender mercy came up with a plan to explain Himself through His Son. We have the privilege of getting to know God through His Word.

As we near the Christmas countdown, keep looking for ways to better understand God through the Word, Jesus Christ.  In what ways do you hope to see God explained through Jesus this Christmas?  And then how will your own actions explain the difference Christ has made in your life?

No one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only, who is at the Father’s side, has made him known. (John 1:18).
