Hope in Christ’s Return ~

“Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

Revelation 21:1-5

Sometimes there are no words to describe or explain the “whys” of life. Why madmen take young lives or disease steals a loved one. While the world searches aimlessly we must remember we have the answer–Christ. Heartbroken people are desperately trying to explain why. It takes only seconds on social media outlets to see every reason under the sun given for last week’s evil at Sandy Hook Elementary. While the world points fingers, let us fall to our knees with raised hands to the one true God. He is our only hope and salvation. During times such as these we need the direction of Holy Spirit anointed words of comfort, prayers uplifted in place of idle words, and humbleness before Almighty God.

Advent is more than a baby in a manger, it is all about our soon returning King. In the midst of this world’s sorrow, we have a hope in His sure promises. We hope and look forward to the day He wipes every tear and a time when there will be no more death. Until that day arrives we look up, encourage one another, and share the Gospel of Christ to a lost world.

Thank you for joining us for 2012’s 12 Days of Christmas series focusing our eyes on Christ’s return.

Mentoring Moments is taking a Christmas break to spend time with our families. We will be back December 26th sharing our vision for 2013 and details on joining together to read through the Bible in 2013.*

Merry Christmas sweet sisters in Christ!
