Climate of Change

”Your beginnings will seem humble, so prosperous will your future be” [Job 8:7]

When the pioneers of radio evangelism started using the airways to proclaim the Gospel, they labored against a loud, persistent chorus of criticism. Clarence Jones, co-founder of missionary station HCJB in Equador, faced these questions: Will God prosper this new-fangled fad since it operates in the very realm of Satan—the air? Don’t the Scriptures clearly portray the devil as the prince of the power of the air?”

Change never gains the popular vote—it is an individual choice—not automatic and will often move us from the familiar. Change is very costly but not so costly as standing still in the mire of stagnation. The climate of change is up to you!

1. Atmosphere—you create the atmosphere by your eagerness to change, to trust in the powers that be and abandon yourself to God. “Since we consider and look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen…” [2 Corinthians 4:18a AMP]

2. Attitude—you choose your attitude, not of resigning to the inevitable but by acceptance with great anticipation, which brings great joy! ”Consider it wholly joyful…whenever you are enveloped in or encounter [change] trials of any sort…” [James 1:2 AMP]

3. Adaptation—your willingness to adapt and adjust to new things will seem easy if the first two are in place. ”Those who trust in, lean on, and confidently hope in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved but abides and stands fast forever.” [Psalm 125:1 AMP]
