There’s an old hymn that says “He’s a wonder-working God.” Growing up singing the hymn is different from resting in the beautiful knowledge of I AM’s mighty power. In our nation of abundance and self-reliance, let us as believers not forget He is indeed a “wonder-working God” today just as He was when Moses described Him in Exodus.
When we stop to consider His greatness, His power, His holiness, only then can we understand that He reigns. He does not reign only during Sunday service or just when things are looking dim, He reigns over the length and breath of a universe the size of which our minds cannot fathom.
He reigns whether we realize it or not.
Oh, that peoples everywhere would realize the magnitude of Him who set us free from sin and death!
I will sing to the Lord, for He is highly exalted. The horse and its rider He has hurled into the sea. The Lord is my strength and my song; He has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise Him, my father’s God, and I will exalt Him. The Lord is a warrior; the Lord is His name. Exodus 15:1-3
Who among the gods is like you, O Lord? Who is like you–majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders? Exodus 15:11
