Together We Have Learned to Trust

Trust in the Lord with all your heart…” [Proverbs 3:5]

Recently I moved some pictures around on my study walls. Now as I gaze up from my reading my eyes see a collage of photographs. Pictures of friends in days gone by. Days that were full of hopes and dreams, wonderful times of fellowship with the Lord and one another—and I give thanks.

I remember the good times and the bad times, the testing and trials that each has walked through and I give thanks for God’s faithfulness to each of us. Even now our love and support for one another has become the hedge that loves and protects through the power of prayer and encouragement.

Together we have learned to trust—trust when nothing made sense, when hearts hurt too much to believe and we believed for each other—trust until the burden lifted and the strength of His Presence filled our souls.

Building trust takes time—it takes testing that only grows through the trysting places when we hear God’s voice in the undeniably hard places of life and through the support and love of those around us.

This is the power of community—no word of God is stronger than when it is believed for others—spoken and spelled out for others and together is lived out in the trials and tribulations of the world we all live in.
