Sisters by Choice

I recently received a mug from a friend that says, “Friends are the sisters I get to choose.” That is such a true statement in my life. I love the blood family God gave to me. We live several states apart now so God has filled my heart with chosen family. I thank God for the sisters by choice who stop their lives for a cold soda or glass of water and an encouraging conversation. I am thankful for sisters by choice who help me with ministry and mission projects. My sisters by choice are the shoulders I cry on and the nonjudgmental ears I vent my frustrations to. I don’t know where I would be without the love and acceptance of my chosen family. If you haven’t found your chosen sisters yet, pray and ask God to show you who is a giving trustworthy friend to invest in. Then give her a call and you initiate the relationship. If you already have those sisters by choice, cherish them and treasure them. They are a true blessing.
