Are you looking for a fun cooking activity to do with your children?  How about making homemade play dough for summer fun?  Have the children help with the measuring of ingredients and stirring.  Let them add the color of their choice then work it through the dough and see how the color permeates the white dough until it becomes the color they have chosen.  A great spiritual lesson in this is to remind our children that when we turn our life over to Christ, it affects every area of our life.  Then we are forever changed!  What a great picture of what God desires for our lives.

Play Dough
1 cup flour
1 cup water
½ cup salt
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 Tablespoon cooking oil
Food coloring

In a heavy aluminum pan, mix dry ingredients.  Add oil and water.  Cook three minutes, stirring some until mixture pulls away from sides of pan.  Divide and add food coloring, working it through the dough.  Enjoy!

Be sure to store your play dough in air tight containers, and it will be ready for fun for many days to come!
