Buffalo Chicken Sliders

Game days hold nostalgic feelings for my husband. It was a big event in the Hughes house growing up, and he still enjoys celebrating a big game with food to this day. In our house, the sports seasons have recently begun and generally last all the way until March. Game day food is a fun way to keep the good times rolling throughout the fall, winter and spring!

My husband’s favorite game day dish is buffalo sliders. You will love it too because it is delicious, makes a quick easy meal, and is simple to clean up.

Ingredients: Chicken, King’s Hawaiian Rolls, and your favorite sauce (we use Frank’s Buffalo Sauce).

Take the chicken and place in a crock pot. There is no need even to thaw the chicken. Then pour in a full medium-size container of your favorite sauce. You could use hot sauce, buffalo, BBQ, or whatever is preferred by your family. I have made these for entertaining and BBQ has been the crowd favorite. For just my husband and myself, we only use two chicken breasts and have leftovers for another meal.

Set your crock pot for 4 hours (minimum) and let it cook. Once finished, place the chicken in a bowl and completely shred it. Add some of the sauce from the crock pot, and give it a quick toss. How much, if any sauce, is up to your personal preference.

We like to toast the Hawaiian rolls to give the bread a slight crunch. We use either the toaster oven or broil in the oven for about a minute.

Serve on paper plates and clean up only consists of cleaning the crock pot and any utensils used. The bowl I use to mix the shredded chicken and the sauce in is one with a lid, so that holds the leftovers in the refrigerator until the next meal.

Enjoy!
