Fridays are difficult days for me for several reasons. I won’t go into detail, but suffice it to say Friday has become a day I don’t look forward to except for the fact that the weekend follows it.

God knows how I struggle on this day so it was no surprise that He gave me a special message over and over this morning in my quiet time.

BE KIND!

Being kind is mentioned over and over again in Scripture. One site I found listed 100 verses in the ESV translation alone. I believe this shows how important being kind is to God. If it’s that important to Him, shouldn’t it be important to me?

One of the most popular and often quoted Bible passages is:

Kindness is one of the nine fruits of the Spirit. As God’s people, Christians are to bear and cultivate these fruits. When we do, they bear witness to the work of God in our lives. I like the image I’ve often seen of a tree bearing the fruits of the Spirit because it pictures the roots reaching down into the soil. This is a perfect symbol of the tree of our life as our roots sink deep into God through His Word, prayer, and fellowship with other believers. This produces spiritual fruit that can impact a world for Jesus Christ.

As one who claims to represent Jesus in this world, I must allow His Spirit to help me overcome my difficult Fridays and turn them into fabulous Fridays.
