Are you ready to board the Friendship Train for some exciting destinations? If so, the 2010 Love Your Neighborhood calendar, Hospitali-TEA Adventures, by Gail Henderson and Martha DeWeese, will take you to new views and vistas. Through the gorgeous photos, you’ll experience a Canadian tearoom at 7,000 feet, a Korean tea ceremony, and a French garden tea outside Paris.
Each month features striking photos, tips to offer friendship, and an encouraging Scripture verse. For example, February shows a photo of the Fairmont Empress Hotel in Victoria, B.C., and encourages you to invite neighbors over for an Olympic-sized cuppa’ and treat them like royal-TEA. April features a photo of a church-shaped teapot and suggests an Easter sunrise tea party or brunch and a progressive neighborhood Easter egg hunt.
Do you want your neighborhood to feel more like family? In May, plan a mother-daughter tea-tasting event. During summer months, consider the ideas for a neighborhood garage sale with proceeds going to the Salvation Army, an impromptu driveway party, or a tea party for soldiers’ families. You’re also encouraged to serve tea in unexpected settings, such as from a backpack, kayak, trail bike, or camper.
Come home for the holidays and bring neighbors together with a Christmas pageant, or sip a cup of memories together. December features one of my favorite photos–my preschool grandchildren dressed as Mary and Joseph.
The 2010 calendar brims with inexpensive ideas to share hospitali-TEA and kind deeds. I hear the train whistle blowing. All aboard the Friendship Train for another year of teatime adventures.
