Music plays a large role in my family’s Christmas season celebrations. We gather each night during December to sing favorite Christmas hymns. Every family tradition from decorating the tree to baking cookies is enhanced with Christmas songs playing in the background.
I am always looking for excellent Christmas music, so I was thrilled last year when I discovered Your King Has Come. This compilation of songs sung by several different artists is a gem, and it immediately became a favorite of us all. Worshipful and reverent, Your King Has Come expresses both the joy we have over our Savior’s birth and our longing for His return.
Several of the carols we have highlighted in this year’s devotional series are on this album, including today’s featured carol Of the Father’s Love Begotten. In addition to moving renditions of old favorites, this album has two fantastic new carols, Joyful Fire and the title track, Your King Has Come.
With four young children, my days are often full of activity, especially during the holiday season. Many nights after the children are in bed, I can be found sitting in the dark with a cup of tea, listening to this peaceful music and reflecting on the glories of my King. This CD has been such a blessing to us that I plan to give away several copies as gifts this year.
