Summer Book Club Reads

* Affiliate links included.

I’m way behind on posting our summer book club choices, but it’s not too late to join us!

Faithful Friends Book Club began in January and we’re reading our sixth book this month, Words Unspoken by Elizabeth Musser. Many of you may have read her book, The Swan House: A Novel, set in 1960’s Atlanta, Georgia. Words Unspoken is set in Chattanooga, Tennessee’s Lookout Mountain and centers around tragic loss, courage, and hope.

Words Unspoken

Ms. Musser made a short video trailer for Words Unspoken that you may enjoy here.

In July we will switch gears just a bit and read Show Some Love: How To Be a Friend to Someone in Recovery by Daphne Tarango. You’ve been blessed by Daphne’s posts right here at MMCW over the years. Daphne will be mentoring us through her book on how to walk with those in recovery wisely.

Show Some Love

For August we’ll be reading Kisses from Katie: A Story of Relentless Love and Redemption by Katie Davis. What makes a young woman from Nashville, TN give up her life in the states for Uganda? The enormous all-encompassing love of Christ. You may have heard her testimony, now read her story of leaving the comfort of home to create a new one for herself and her adopted daughter in Uganda. You will be inspired. There are many videos on youtube of Katie giving her testimony you may enjoy here.

Kisses for Katie

Faithful Friends meets online in a private Facebook group. This means no one but our group sees our comments.  Visit our Facebook page and click join and I will add you to the group. We would love to have you join us this summer!
