“If every couple who seriously aim at marriage would go to the foot of the Cross for divine direction it would be given, thus obviating the confusions, the chaos, and the broken promises which seem to characterize so many of today’s short-term marriages. A man who has chosen to marry would do well to contemplate the fact that he marries a sinner. A woman, of course, does the same. There is nobody else to marry!” Elisabeth Elliot, Marriage: A Revolution and a Revelation

January marked 25 years of marriage to my best friend, Greg. On one hand it seems like yesterday we were married in a little country church in Alabama. Time has passed though, and we’ve lived each of the last 25 years with joys, challenges, tears and plenty of laughter. And, even after 25 years, Ms. Elliott’s words of wisdom are still relevant to my own marriage.

During March, Mentoring Moments will be writing on Marriage @ Full Strength in Christ. We will discuss a variety of marriage topics, all centered on the true source of marriage success, Christ.
