Hi, everyone! It’s introduction time for me and I’d like to let you know a little bit about who I am and what I do.
I’m a Christian Canadian woman, beloved wife, and homeschool mom of four kids – two boys and two girls. They are ages 15, 13, 11 and 9.
Some things I’m not so fond of are cold feet at night, mice, pulling weeds, and bananas (even the smell of them). But I love things like fair trade organic coffee, cooking gourmet and ethnic dishes, writing, and dreaming about house designs.
My husband and I have done a lot of moving – sometimes within Canada, other times within the United States. In the first ten years of married life we moved nine times. Now we’ve been in the same place for seven years! We’re in Canada now in an itty-bitty town surrounded by farmers and beautiful skies. Of all the places I’ve ever lived or visited, I have to say that the best skies, clouds, sunsets and sunrises are right here where we live now… on the Manitoba prairies.
I have a passion for mentoring and training young people. I spend every Friday afternoon and evening with other people’s kids (and my own) because I love them. I’m slowly beginning a ministry to help moms mentor their kids and their kids’ friends. It’s wonderful to see what God is doing!
For most of our married life, my husband travelled a lot for work and I was at home with the kids. For this reason I have a soft spot in my heart for Married ‘Single’ Moms. I’m quite passionate about helping women in this situation stay engaged in their marriages and see their circumstances from God’s perspective. Carla Anne can be described in one word: passionate. After just a few minutes with her it is evident that her biggest passion is people. Carla Anne is an accomplished Christian author, speaker and business woman. Her favourite way to spend her free time is hanging out with her 8 kids (an even mix of sons, daughters, and in-laws) and many family “add-ons”. In winter you can find her cheering for her local hockey team and in summer she’ll be on the beach!
