Just what? If I act right. If I live right. If I look right. If I do what you want. Or what he wants.
Love is available if I pay for it. With money. With keeping my mouth shut. With doing what everyone else wants. With giving up my dreams.
What if I don’t want love anymore? I’m tired of all this love that is so conditional, so wasted, so fake, so exhausting.
I’m tired of love that walks out on me, that demands more than I can give. I hate that kind of love!
And if that’s what love really was I’d agree with everyone who has ever given up on love. But I have good news.
Love is nothing like that.
Real Love gives and gives and even dies for you before asking for anything in return.
Real Love sees you in your mess, in your shame, in your pain, in your sin and says you are beautiful and I love you.
Real Love gives you new dreams when old ones die.
Real Love promises to be with you, even to the end of the world!
Real Love is patient, and kind, and is never jealous or controlling.
Real Love is never irritable, or rude, or arrogant.
Real Love never ends.
Real Love has a Name. His name is Jesus.
Real Love is a Gentleman and will never make you love Him back… He invites you into a relationship with Him and says…
I love you!
Don’t settle for the fake loves offered by this world. Don’t accept what they are selling. Instead, grab hold of the One who will love you, who HAS loved you since the moment you were created.
Jesus wants to know…
